# Duinger Berg

The **Duinger Berg** is a hill range, up to ,[1] in the [Lower Saxon Hills](/source/Lower_Saxon_Hills) and the district of [Landkreis](/source/Landkreis_Hildesheim) in the German state of [Lower Saxony](/source/Lower_Saxony).

## Location

The Duinger Berg lies in the western part of the [Leine Uplands](/source/Leine_Uplands), a northern section of the [Lower Saxon Hills](/source/Lower_Saxon_Hills). Its highest summit is the Babenstein and it measures some 7.5 km in length. It is situated in the triangle formed by the settlements of [Eime](/source/Eime,_Lower_Saxony), [Alfeld](/source/Alfeld_(Leine)) and [Duingen](/source/Duingen) and also lies between [Deinsen](/source/Deinsen) and Lübbrechtsen to the north, Rott, [Hoyershausen](/source/Hoyershausen) and [Lütgenholzen](/source/L%C3%BCtgenholzen) to the east, [Brunkensen](/source/Brunkensen) to the southeast, [Coppengrave](/source/Coppengrave) to the south, [Duingen](/source/Duingen) to the southwest and [Weenzen](/source/Weenzen) and [Marienhagen](/source/Marienhagen) to the northwest.

The main summit of the Duinger Berg is the Babenstein (). A little further southeast is the Kikedal ().

Northwest of the Duinger Berg is the ridge of the [Thüster Berg](/source/Th%C3%BCster_Berg), to the east is the [Külf](/source/K%C3%BClf), southeast the [Reuberg](/source/Reuberg) and west the knife-edge of the [Ith](/source/Ith), part of which lies within the [Weser Uplands-Schaumburg-Hamelin Nature Park](/source/Weser_Uplands-Schaumburg-Hamelin_Nature_Park). The valley of the Glene, a southwestern tributary of the [Leine](/source/Leine_(Aller)) leads to the Reuberg.

The [B 240](/source/Bundesstra%C3%9Fe_240) runs past the Duinger Berg to the northwest. The [B 3](/source/Bundesstra%C3%9Fe_3) runs by to the east.

## Hiking

Numerous forest tracks run over the Duinger Berg. One hiking trail runs over the crest of the ridge from Marienhagen to Brunkensen.
