# Duingen

**Duingen** is a village and a municipality in the [district of Hildesheim](/source/Hildesheim_(district)), in [Lower Saxony](/source/Lower_Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany). It is situated approximately 25 km southwest of [Hildesheim](/source/Hildesheim), and 40 km south of [Hanover](/source/Hanover). Since 1 November 2016, the former municipalities [Coppengrave](/source/Coppengrave), [Hoyershausen](/source/Hoyershausen), [Marienhagen](/source/Marienhagen) and [Weenzen](/source/Weenzen) are part of the municipality Duingen.

Duingen was the seat of the former *[Samtgemeinde](/source/Samtgemeinde)* ("collective municipality") [Duingen](/source/Duingen_(Samtgemeinde)).
