On a [nautical chart](/source/Nautical_chart), the **drying height**[1] is the [vertical distance](/source/Vertical_distance) of the seabed that is exposed by the [tide](/source/Tide), above the [sea](/source/Sea) [water level](/source/Water_level) at the [lowest astronomical tide](/source/Lowest_astronomical_tide).

On [admiralty charts](/source/Admiralty_chart) a drying height is distinguished from a depth by being underlined.
