'''''Drosera macrophylla''''', the '''showy sundew''',<ref name="FloraBase">{{FloraBase|id=3107|name=''Drosera macrophylla''}}</ref> is a [perennial](/source/perennial_plant) [tuber](/source/tuber)ous species in the genus ''[Drosera](/source/Drosera)'' that is [endemic](/source/endemic) to [Western Australia](/source/Western_Australia). It grows in a [rosette](/source/rosette_(botany)) with leaves {{convert|4|cm|0|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|2|cm|0|abbr=on}} wide. It is a common species east of [Perth](/source/Perth%2C_Western_Australia). It grows in loam soils. It flowers from June to October. ''D. macrophylla'' was first described by [John Lindley](/source/John_Lindley) in his 1839 publication ''[A sketch of the vegetation of the Swan River Colony](/source/A_sketch_of_the_vegetation_of_the_Swan_River_Colony)''. In 1992, [Allen Lowrie](/source/Allen_Lowrie) and [Sherwin Carlquist](/source/Sherwin_Carlquist) described a new [subspecies](/source/subspecies), ''D. macrophylla'' subsp. ''monantha'', which is distinguished from ''D. macrophylla'' subsp. ''macrophylla'' by its single-flowered or rarely biflowered [inflorescence](/source/inflorescence)s. Subspecies ''monantha'' is abundant in the [Bruce Rock](/source/Bruce_Rock%2C_Western_Australia)/[Merredin](/source/Merredin%2C_Western_Australia) region.<ref name="Lowrie and Carlquist 1992">Lowrie, A. and S.
