***Drosera aquatica*** is a species of [sundew](/source/Sundew) [endemic](/source/Endemism) to the [Northern Territory](/source/Northern_Territory) and [Western Australia](/source/Western_Australia). It was first described by [Allen Lowrie](/source/Allen_Lowrie) in 2013.[1] Like other members of *[Drosera sect. Arachnopus](/source/Drosera_sect._Arachnopus)* it is an [annual](/source/Annual_(botany)) [therophyte](/source/Raunki%C3%A6r_plant_life-form).[2]

As the [specific epithet](/source/Botanical_name) implies, *D. aquatica* can be entirely aquatic, floating on the surface of floodwaters from the Australian [monsoon](/source/Monsoon).[3]
