**Drawdown cards** are used for testing [paints](/source/Paint) and [coatings](/source/Coating) through [wet film](/source/Wet_film) preparation.

Black and white cards are used to measure both [opacity](/source/Opacity_(optics)) and [contrast ratio](/source/Contrast_ratio).[1] By measuring reflectance values of both parts of the card one can gain a quantitative opacity value of a paint sample.[2]
