# Dragon World Championship

The **Dragon World Championship** is an international biennial [sailing](/source/Sailing_(sport)) [regatta](/source/Regatta) competed in the [Dragon keelboat class](/source/Dragon_(keelboat)). It is organized by the host club on behalf of the [International Dragon Association](/source/International_Dragon_Association) and recognised by [World Sailing](/source/World_Sailing).[1] The Dragon was an used in the [Summer Olympic Games](/source/Sailing_at_the_Olympic_Games) from 1948 to 1972.

## History

The first Dragon World Championship was held in 1965.
