# Dozing Green

"**Dozing Green**" (stylized as ***DOZING GREEN***) is a single by [Dir En Grey](/source/Dir_En_Grey), released on October 24, 2007 in Japan and across Europe as well as in the [iTunes Store](/source/ITunes_Store) until the end of October.[1] The Japanese edition includes two [b-sides](/source/A-side_and_B-side), "Hydra -666-" and "Agitated Screams of Maggots [Live]".[2] The European release features only "Dozing Green" and "Agitated Screams of Maggots", while the iTunes release is sold as the title track only.[3]

The [music video](/source/Music_video) for "Dozing Green" shows cells from *[The Drifting Classroom](/source/The_Drifting_Classroom)* by horror [manga](/source/Manga) artist [Kazuo Umezu](/source/Kazuo_Umezu). The music video of "Hydra -666-" can be found on *In Weal or Woe*.

"Dozing Green" is one of the two singles featured on *[Uroboros](/source/Uroboros_(album))*, along with "[Glass Skin](/source/Glass_Skin)". Like its counterpart, the song is re-recorded in English for the album.

The music video for "Dozing Green" was voted the #1 video of the year 2008 on the [MTV2](/source/MTV2) show [Headbangers Ball](/source/Headbangers_Ball).[4]

## Music

For "Dozing Green", guitarist Kaoru performed on a [PRS](/source/PRS_Guitars) Custom 24, while Die recorded on a [Fender Stratocaster](/source/Fender_Stratocaster) in the studio.[5] The music video however, shows Kaoru performing on the usual [ESP](/source/ESP_guitars) Viper and Die on an [ESP](/source/ESP_Guitars) [Eclipse](/source/ESP_Eclipse).[6]

The first b-side, "Hydra -666-", is a rearrangement of the song "Hydra" originally recorded for *[Macabre](/source/Macabre_(album))* (2000). The "[Agitated Screams of Maggots](/source/Agitated_Screams_of_Maggots)" live recording was performed at a concert limited to registered purchasers of the band's previous album, *[The Marrow of a Bone](/source/The_Marrow_of_a_Bone)* (2007).
