# Douglas Collard

**Douglas Christopher Collard** (born 26 September 1952) is a former English [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Collard was a right-handed [batsman](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) who bowled right-arm [medium-fast](/source/Seam_bowling). He was born in [Barnet](/source/Chipping_Barnet), [Hertfordshire](/source/Hertfordshire).

Collard made his debut for [Cambridgeshire](/source/Cambridgeshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the 1971 [Minor Counties Championship](/source/Minor_Counties_Championship) against [Bedfordshire](/source/Bedfordshire_County_Cricket_Club). Collard played [Minor counties](/source/Minor_counties_of_English_and_Welsh_cricket) cricket for Cambridgeshire from 1971 to 1992, including 108 Minor Counties Championship matches[1] and 14 [MCCA Knockout Trophy](/source/MCCA_Knockout_Trophy) matches.[2] In 1975, he made his [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) debut against [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the [Gillette Cup](/source/1975_Gillette_Cup). He played four further List A matches for Cambridgeshire, the last coming against [Worcestershire](/source/Worcestershire_County_Cricket_Club) in the [1989 NatWest Trophy](/source/1989_NatWest_Trophy).[3] In his five List A matches, he scored 17 runs at a [batting average](/source/Batting_average_(cricket)) of 8.50, with a high score of 9.[4] With the ball he took 5 wickets at a [bowling average](/source/Bowling_average) of 33.20, with best figures of 3/38.[5]

He played Second XI cricket for the [Derbyshire Second XI](/source/Derbyshire_County_Cricket_Club) and the [Middlesex Second XI](/source/Middlesex_County_Cricket_Club).[6]
