**Douglas Robert Halward** (born November 1, 1955) is a Canadian former professional [ice hockey](/source/Ice_hockey) [defenceman](/source/Defenceman_(ice_hockey)) who played 663 games in the [National Hockey League](/source/National_Hockey_League) (NHL) for the [Boston Bruins](/source/Boston_Bruins), [Los Angeles Kings](/source/Los_Angeles_Kings), [Vancouver Canucks](/source/Vancouver_Canucks), [Detroit Red Wings](/source/Detroit_Red_Wings) and [Edmonton Oilers](/source/Edmonton_Oilers). He helped the Bruins reach the [1977 Stanley Cup Finals](/source/1977_Stanley_Cup_Finals) and the Canucks reach the [1982 Stanley Cup Finals](/source/1982_Stanley_Cup_Finals).

Halward was born in [Toronto](/source/Toronto), [Ontario](/source/Ontario). He played [junior hockey](/source/Junior_hockey) for the [Peterborough Petes](/source/Peterborough_Petes). As a youth, he played in the 1968 [Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament](/source/Quebec_International_Pee-Wee_Hockey_Tournament) with the Toronto Young Nationals [minor ice hockey](/source/Minor_ice_hockey) team.[1]
