'''Samuel Douglas Dickson''' (26 March 1894 – 27 July 1960) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the [New South Wales Legislative Assembly](/source/New_South_Wales_Legislative_Assembly) from  1938 until his death in 1960. He was a  member of the [Country Party](/source/National_Party_of_Australia_%E2%80%93_NSW), serving as its [Deputy Leader](/source/Leader_of_the_New_South_Wales_National_Party) from 1953 to 1958.

Dickson was born in [Cootamundra, New South Wales](/source/Cootamundra%2C_New_South_Wales). He was the son of a monumental mason and was educated to elementary level at Cootamundra Public School. He served in the [First Australian Imperial Force](/source/First_Australian_Imperial_Force) in Egypt and France. After the First World War he became a soldier-settler in the [Temora, New South Wales](/source/Temora%2C_New_South_Wales) region.<ref name="Doug Dickson NSW parl"/> Dickson was elected to the New South Wales Parliament at the [1938](/source/1938_New_South_Wales_state_election) as the Country Party member for [Temora](/source/Electoral_district_of_Temora).<ref name="Green Temora">{{cite NSW election |title=Elections for the District of Temora |year=DistrictIndexes |district=Temora |access-date=2020-10-29}}</ref> He replaced the retiring member [Hugh Main](/source/Hugh_Main).
