'''Doris Meyer Mahalick''' (October 23, 1924 – October 17, 2008) was an American [Democratic Party](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)) official who served on the [Bergen County, New Jersey](/source/Bergen_County%2C_New_Jersey) [Board of Chosen Freeholders](/source/Board_of_County_Commissioners_(New_Jersey)).  She served as the mayor of [Wallington, New Jersey](/source/Wallington%2C_New_Jersey) and as the first woman to serve as the Bergen County Police Commissioner when she was appointed in 1965.<ref>{{cite news|title=Heads Police|publisher=Reading Eagle|date=29 November 1965}}</ref>

She declined to seek re-election as Freeholder, and in the general election she endorsed Feldman's Republican opponent, [William D. McDowell](/source/William_D._McDowell). After McDowell won, Mahalick joined his administration.

She retired to [Wildwood Crest, New Jersey](/source/Wildwood_Crest%2C_New_Jersey) and [Palm Beach, Florida](/source/Palm_Beach%2C_Florida), and died in 2008 at age 83 after battles with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.<ref>{{cite news|last1=Gartland|first1=Michael|title=Wallington ex-mayor Doris Mahalick, at 83|publisher=The Record|date=18 October 2008}}</ref>
