**Donovan Scott** (born September 29, 1946)[1] is an American character actor best known for his role as cadet Leslie Barbara in the 1984 film *[Police Academy](/source/Police_Academy_(film))*, in which he was part of an ensemble cast.

## Biography

Scott was born on 26 September 1946 in Chico, California.[1] He studied for two and a half years at the [American Conservatory Theater](/source/American_Conservatory_Theater) in San Francisco.[1] He toured as both an actor and artistic director of a theatrical troupe.[1] In 1977, Scott settled in Los Angeles and worked extensively in both film and television.[1] In 1979, he made his film debut in [Steven Spielberg](/source/Steven_Spielberg)'s *[1941](/source/1941_(film))*.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] His likeness to [Oliver Hardy](/source/Oliver_Hardy) in the film *[Sheena](/source/Sheena_(film))* has been noted.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] Scott also appeared in the music video for [Olivia Newton-John](/source/Olivia_Newton-John)'s 1981 hit "[Physical](/source/Physical_(Olivia_Newton-John_song))", and co-starred in [Lucille Ball](/source/Lucille_Ball)'s 1986 [ABC-TV](/source/American_Broadcasting_Company) series *[Life with Lucy](/source/Life_with_Lucy)*.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]
