**Donaldson** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area) and [census-designated place](/source/Census-designated_place) (CDP) in [West Township](/source/West_Township,_Marshall_County,_Indiana), [Marshall County](/source/Marshall_County,_Indiana), [Indiana](/source/Indiana), United States. It is home to [Ancilla College](/source/Ancilla_College) and the American motherhouse of the [Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ](/source/Poor_Handmaids_of_Jesus_Christ).

## History

Donaldson (also historically spelled "Donelson") was laid out in 1871.[3] A post office has been in operation there since 1871.[4]

## Geography

Donaldson is located in western Marshall County at [41°21′40″N 86°26′39″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=41_21_40_N_86_26_39_W). [U.S. Route 30](/source/U.S._Route_30) runs along the northern edge of the community, leading east 7 miles (11 km) to [Plymouth](/source/Plymouth,_Indiana), the [county seat](/source/County_seat), and west 3 miles (5 km) to [Grovertown](/source/Grovertown,_Indiana).

According to the [U.S. Census Bureau](/source/U.S._Census_Bureau), the Donaldson CDP has an area of 0.49 square miles (1.27 km2), all land.[5]
