==Early life==
Wildman was raised in [Pitman, New Jersey](/source/Pitman%2C_New_Jersey), and is a 1979 graduate of [Westtown School](/source/Westtown_School), a [Quaker](/source/Quaker) boarding school located in [Chester County, Pennsylvania](/source/Chester_County%2C_Pennsylvania). He also attended [Earlham College](/source/Earlham_College) in [Richmond, Indiana](/source/Richmond%2C_Indiana) (another Quaker school) and trained as an actor at The Drama Studio in London, England.{{Citation needed |date=June 2021}}

Wildman was originally a stage actor in several production the best known of which was [Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde](/source/Gross_Indecency%3A_The_Three_Trials_of_Oscar_Wilde). He also acted in several commercials before finding success with his love of history and mysteries.

==Travel Channel==

In addition to acting, hosting and narrating, Wildman produced ''[Off Limits](/source/Off_Limits_(TV_series))'' from 2011 to 2013 for the Travel Channel, a documentary series about historical sites around the United States which are unknown and/or off limits.
