The '''Domuyo Volcano''' is a [stratovolcano](/source/stratovolcano) located in the [Argentine](/source/Argentina) [province](/source/provinces_of_Argentina) of [Neuquén](/source/Neuqu%C3%A9n_Province).
With a height of {{Convert|4702|m|ft|0|abbr=on}}, it is the highest mountain in [Patagonia](/source/Patagonia) and is sometimes called the "Roof of Patagonia" (''"El Techo de la Patagonia"'' in [Spanish](/source/Spanish_language)).<ref>Some sources mistakenly refer to [Monte San Valentin](/source/Monte_San_Valentin) as the highest peak in Patagonia, despite it being only 4,058 meters, about 651 meters less than Domuyo</ref>

The [volcano](/source/volcano) has a large {{Convert|15|km|mi|0}} wide [caldera](/source/caldera). At least 14 [dacite](/source/dacite) [lava dome](/source/lava_dome)s are found within the caldera, with another five outside.<ref name=gvp/> Its slopes western contain many [fumarole](/source/fumarole)s, [hot spring](/source/hot_spring)s and [geyser](/source/geyser)s.<ref>{{Cite journal |title=Geology and conceptual model of the Domuyo geothermal area, northern Patagonia, Argentina |journal=[Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research](/source/Journal_of_Volcanology_and_Geothermal_Research) |last1=Silva-Fragoso |first1=Argelia |volume=420 |last2=Ferrari |first2=Luca |year=2021 |last3=Norini |first3=Gianluca |last4=Orozco-Esquivel |first4=Teresa |last5=Corbo-Camargo |first5=Fernando |last6=Bernal |first6=Juan Pablo |last7=Castro |first7=Cesar |last8=Arrubarrena-Moreno |first8=Manuel|doi=10.1016/j.jvolgeores.2021.107396 |bibcode=2021JVGR..42007396S }}</ref>

It names derives from the [Mapuche](/source/Mapudungun) meaning "To tremble and grumble", probably due to the geothermal activity of the volcano.

The volcano is accessible by the [National Route 40](/source/National_Route_40_(Argentina)) from [Chos Malal](/source/Chos_Malal), connecting with provincial route 43, passing by [Andacollo](/source/Andacollo).
