Born in [Abbeyside](/source/Abbeyside), [County Waterford](/source/County_Waterford), Enright first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-two when he first linked up with the senior team. He joined the senior panel during the [1957 championship](/source/1957_All-Ireland_Senior_Hurling_Championship). Enright was a regular member of the panel over the next few years and won one [Munster](/source/Munster_Senior_Hurling_Championship) medal as a non-playing substitute. At club level Enright played hurling withy [Abbeyside](/source/Abbeyside%E2%80%93Ballinacourty_GAA) and [Gaelic football](/source/Gaelic_football) with [Abbeyside/Ballinacourty](/source/Abbeyside%2FBallinacourty_GAA). Enright retired from inter-county hurling during the [1959 championship](/source/1959_All-Ireland_Senior_Hurling_Championship).
