# Dolon Pass

**Dolon Pass** (Kyrgyz: Долон ашуусу) is a [pass](/source/Mountain_pass) located between the [Songköl Too](/source/Songk%C3%B6l_Too) and the [Bayduluu Range](/source/Bayduluu_Range) in [Naryn Region](/source/Naryn_Region), [Kyrgyzstan](/source/Kyrgyzstan). The pass lies at 3,030 metres (9,940 ft).[1] Highway of international significance ЭМ-11 (as per the national road classification[2]) connecting [Bishkek](/source/Bishkek), [Balykchy](/source/Balykchy), [Naryn](/source/Naryn), [Torugart](/source/Torugart), and Kyrgyzstan-China border, which is also known as [European route E125](/source/European_route_E125) and [Asian Highway 61](/source/AH61) in Kyrgyzstan, traverses the pass.

## In popular culture

In [Chingiz Aitmatov](/source/Chingiz_Aitmatov)'s novella My Little Poplar in a Red Headscarf (from a collection of stories Tales of the Mountains and Steppes) Dolon Pass is a part of the storyline as a difficult mountain pass.
