He appeared in two games in [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) for the [Boston Braves](/source/Boston_Braves_(baseball)) in 1918, once as a [pinch hitter](/source/pinch_hitter) and once as a [pinch runner](/source/pinch_runner).

In his major league career, Bass had one [at bat](/source/at_bat), in which he [single](/source/single_(baseball))d. He also scored a run and [stole a base](/source/stolen_base), although he never appeared in the field. After the 1918 season, Bass continued to play [minor league baseball](/source/minor_league_baseball) until 1925, primarily as an [outfielder](/source/outfielder).
