# Doany

**Doany** is a rural municipality in northern [Madagascar](/source/Madagascar). It belongs to the [district](/source/Districts_of_Madagascar) of [Andapa](/source/Andapa_District), which is a part of [Sava Region](/source/Sava_Region). According to 2001 [census](/source/Census), the population of Doany is 19,928.[1]

Doany is served by a local [airport](/source/Doany_Airport). Primary and junior level secondary education are available in town. The majority 99% of the population are farmers. The most important crops are [coffee](/source/Coffee) and [vanilla](/source/Vanilla), while other important agricultural products are [peanut](/source/Peanut) and [beans](/source/Bean). Services provide employment for 1% of the population.[1]
