'''''Diplarrena''''' is a genus of flowering plants in the family [Iridaceae](/source/Iridaceae). The two species are [endemic](/source/endemism) to [Australia](/source/Australia).<ref name=NSW>{{cite web |url=http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=gn&name=Diplarrena |title=Genus ''Diplarrena'' |accessdate=1 July 2013 |author1=James, T.A. |author2=Brown, E.A. |work= PlantNET - New South Wales Flora Online |publisher=Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust, Sydney Australia}}</ref> The name is from Greek ''diploos'' ("double") and ''arren'' ("male");<ref name=Goldblatt2008>{{cite book |author1=Manning, John |author2=Goldblatt, Peter |title=The Iris Family: Natural History & Classification |publisher=Timber Press |location=Portland, Oregon|pages=199–200 |year=2008|isbn=978-0-88192-897-6}}</ref> plants in the genus have only two functional [stamens](/source/stamens), while all other Iridaceae have three. The name is often misspelled ''Diplarrhena'', an error that began with [George Bentham](/source/George_Bentham)'s ''[Flora Australiensis](/source/Flora_Australiensis)'' in 1873.

These plants are tufted perennial herbs with short [rhizome](/source/rhizome)s. The leaves are basal, linear, flat, and present all year. The stem is erect, with a few reduced leaves. Flowers appear one at a time from a green terminal [spathe](/source/spathe). They are iris-like but distinctly [zygomorphic](/source/zygomorphic). There are six white [tepals](/source/tepals) and a style with two thread-like branches.

There are two species:
