# Dion Berisha

**Dion Berisha** (born 9 May 2003) is a professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [winger](/source/Midfielder#Winger) and [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)) for [Regionalliga Bayern](/source/Regionalliga_Bayern) club [Würzburger Kickers](/source/FC_W%C3%BCrzburger_Kickers). Born in France, he represented Kosovo at youth level.

## Club career

### FC Augsburg

As a youth player, Berisha joined the academy of German side [FC Augsburg](/source/FC_Augsburg). He made his professional debut with the reserve team [FC Augsburg II](/source/FC_Augsburg_II) in 2020, and later was called up with the senior team, although he failed to feature for any playing time. Berisha was regarded as one of the club's most prominent prospects.[1]

### Bayern Munich II

On 2023, he signed for [Regionalliga Bayern](/source/Regionalliga_Bayern) side [Bayern Munich II](/source/FC_Bayern_Munich_II). On 21 July 2023, he scored a goal in his debut for the club during a 3–3 draw with [SV Wacker Burghausen](/source/SV_Wacker_Burghausen).

### Rot-Weiss Essen

On 9 July 2024, Berisha joined [3. Liga](/source/3._Liga) club [Rot-Weiss Essen](/source/Rot-Weiss_Essen) on a permanent transfer.[2][3]

## International career

From 2018, until 2023, Berisha has been part of Kosovo at youth international level, respectively has been part of the [U15](/source/Kosovo_national_under-15_football_team), U16, [U17](/source/Kosovo_national_under-17_football_team) and [U21](/source/Kosovo_national_under-21_football_team) teams and he with these teams played fourteen matches and scored one goal.

In October 2023, due to the negligence of the [Football Federation of Kosovo](/source/Football_Federation_of_Kosovo), Berisha decided to play for [Albania U21](/source/Albania_national_under-21_football_team),[4] where he received the called up for the [UEFA Euro 2025 qualification](/source/2025_UEFA_European_Under-21_Championship_qualification_Group_E) match against [Finland](/source/Finland_national_under-21_football_team) and [Montenegro](/source/Montenegro_national_under-21_football_team),[5] but he could not debut because he had just debuted in the qualifiers with Kosovo and that he must wait for the other qualifiers to have the right to play.[6]

## Personal life

Berisha was born in [Lyon](/source/Lyon), France, to a family that originates from [Pristina](/source/Pristina), Kosovo.[7] He is the son of Ekremi Berisha.[8]

## Style of play

Berisha mainly operates as a [winger](/source/Midfielder#Winger) and has also been deployed as a [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)) and as an [attacking midfielder](/source/Midfielder#Attacking_midifielder).[citation needed]
