The **Roman Catholic Diocese of Diphu** (Latin: *Diphuen(sis)*) is a [diocese](/source/Diocese) located in the city of [Diphu](/source/Diphu) in the [ecclesiastical province](/source/Ecclesiastical_province) of [Guwahati](/source/Roman_Catholic_Archdiocese_of_Guwahati) in India.

## History

- 5 December 1983: Established as Diocese of Diphu from the [Metropolitan Archdiocese of Shillong–Gauhati](/source/Metropolitan_Archdiocese_of_Shillong%E2%80%93Gauhati). The foundation stone was blessed by [Pope John Paul 2](/source/Pope_John_Paul_2) during his pastoral visit to Shillong.[citation needed]
