'''Dinting''' is a village in the [High Peak](/source/High_Peak%2C_Derbyshire) district of [Derbyshire](/source/Derbyshire), England. It is situated near the towns of Glossop and [Hadfield](/source/Hadfield%2C_Derbyshire). There is a small primary school, Dinting C of E, located near [the viaduct](/source/Dinting_viaduct). The 1st Dinting Scout Group has been active since 1938.

==Transport==

The village is served by [Dinting railway station](/source/Dinting_railway_station), on the [Glossop Line](/source/Glossop_Line) between [Glossop](/source/Glossop_railway_station), [Hadfield](/source/Hadfield_railway_station) and [Manchester Piccadilly](/source/Manchester_Piccadilly_railway_station). The station has a generally half-hourly service in both directions.

It is notable for the [Dinting Arches](/source/Dinting_Viaduct), a viaduct which carries the railway over Glossop Brook.

The [Dinting Railway Centre](/source/Dinting_Railway_Centre) was run by the ''Bahamas Locomotive Society'' until it closed in 1991, due to leasing difficulties. The museum moved to [Ingrow (West) station](/source/Ingrow_(West)_railway_station), alongside the line at the [Keighley and Worth Valley Railway](/source/Keighley_and_Worth_Valley_Railway).
