**Dimitrios Itoudis** (alternate spelling: Dimitris) ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Δημήτριος Ιτούδης, born September 8, 1970) is a Greek professional [basketball](/source/Basketball) [coach](/source/Basketball_coach) who is currently the head coach for [Hapoel Tel Aviv](/source/Hapoel_Tel_Aviv_B.C.) of the [Israeli Premier League](/source/Israeli_Basketball_Premier_League) and the [Euroleague](/source/EuroLeague). He formerly coached the [Greece men's national basketball team](/source/Greece_men's_national_basketball_team).

## Coaching career

Itoudis began his coaching career in 1990, when he began coaching [Zagreb](/source/KK_Zagreb)'s Under-18 team in [Croatia](/source/Croatia). In 1992, he became an assistant coach with the [senior men's team of Zagreb](/source/KK_Zagreb). In 1995, he became an assistant coach with the [Greek Basket League](/source/Greek_Basket_League) club [PAOK](/source/P.A.O.K._BC).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

He then became the [head coach](/source/Head_coach) of PAOK in 1996. He was an assistant coach with the Greek club [Panionios](/source/Panionios_B.C.), during the 1996–97 season, before becoming the head coach of the Greek club, [Philippos Thessaloniki](/source/Philippos_Thessaloniki_B.C.), from 1997 to 1999. After that, he was the head coach of the Greek club [MENT](/source/MENT_B.C.).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

He then became the assistant coach of [Željko Obradović](/source/%C5%BDeljko_Obradovi%C4%87), with the Greek club [Panathinaikos](/source/Panathinaikos_B.C.). He worked as Panathinaikos' assistant, from 1999 to 2012. While he was Panathinaikos' assistant coach, he was a part of 5 [EuroLeague](/source/EuroLeague) championship teams (2000, 2002, 2007, 2009, 2011), 11 [Greek League](/source/Greek_Basket_League) championship teams (2000, 2001, 2003–2011), and 7 [Greek Cup](/source/Greek_Basketball_Cup) winning teams (2003, 2005–2009, 2012)[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

Itoudis became the head coach of the [Turkish Super League](/source/Turkish_Basketball_Super_League) club [Banvit](/source/Banvit_BK) in 2013.[1] In June 2014, he became the head coach of [CSKA Moscow](/source/PBC_CSKA_Moscow), signing a two-year deal.[2][3] In his first season working with the team ([2014–15](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_VTB_United_League)), CSKA Moscow won the [VTB United League](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_VTB_United_League), after eliminating [Khimki](/source/BC_Khimki) with a 3–0 series sweep in the league's finals series.[4]

In his second season with CSKA Moscow ([2015–16](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Euroleague)), he became the first Greek basketball coach to win the EuroLeague championship with a foreign (non-Greek) club. On June 3, 2016, he re-signed with CSKA for three seasons.[5] In July 2016, he was named the [EuroLeague Coach of the Year](/source/EuroLeague_Coach_of_the_Year), for the 2015–16 season.[6]

He left CSKA Moscow in June 2022, with one year remaining on his contract.[7]

On 19 June 2022, he signed a 3-year-deal with [Fenerbahçe](/source/Fenerbah%C3%A7e_S.K._(basketball)).[8] His contract was terminated in December 2023, a year ahead of the end of his contract.

At the end of November 2024, he signed with the Israeli EuroCup team [Hapoel Tel Aviv](/source/Hapoel_Tel_Aviv_B.C.), replacing his former assistant coach [Stefanos Dedas](/source/Stefanos_Dedas).[\[1\]](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/el/eurocup/news/itoudis-is-motivated-and-honored-to-take-over-at-hapoel/) A few months later, he won the EuroCup title.[\[2\]](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/tr/eurocup/news/hapoel-sweeps-gran-canaria-for-first-eurocup-title-and-ticket-to-euroleague/)
