In 2021, when he was selected for the [Australia national rugby sevens team](/source/Australia_national_rugby_sevens_team) for their [2020 Olympics rugby sevens tournament](/source/Rugby_sevens_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_tournament),[5] he was the youngest member of the team and was given responsibility for taking care of the team's mascot [Wally](/source/Wally_(Wallabies_mascot)).[12] This followed on from [Henry Hutchison](/source/Henry_Hutchison) at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics) where Wally was kidnapped by players from the [Sweden women's national football team](/source/Sweden_women's_national_football_team) for 24 hours.[6]

Roache competed for [Australia](/source/Australia_national_rugby_sevens_team) at the [2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens](/source/2022_Rugby_World_Cup_Sevens) in [Cape Town](/source/Cape_Town).[13][14] In 2024, He was named in the [Australian sevens team](/source/Australia_national_rugby_sevens_team) for the [Summer Olympics](/source/2024_Summer_Olympics) in [Paris](/source/Paris).[15][16][17]
