# Dick Rude

**Dick Rude** (born 1964) is a director, actor and writer known for his appearances in and contributions to many [Alex Cox](/source/Alex_Cox) films including a starring role in 1986's *[Straight to Hell](/source/Straight_to_Hell_(film))*, for which he also served as a writer and contributed to the soundtrack. Rude directed the [Red Hot Chili Peppers](/source/Red_Hot_Chili_Peppers) music videos "[Catholic School Girls Rule](/source/Catholic_School_Girls_Rule)", "[Fight Like a Brave](/source/Fight_Like_a_Brave)", and "[Universally Speaking](/source/Universally_Speaking)" as well as their live concert DVD *[Off the Map](/source/Off_the_Map_(video))*. He has two young daughters one named [Goldie Greenberg](/source/Goldie_Greenberg) and the other, Maybelline.

His most recent film is *[Let's Rock Again!](/source/Let's_Rock_Again!)*, a 2004 documentary that documented the final tour of musician [Joe Strummer](/source/Joe_Strummer) shortly before his death in 2002.
