**Richard Frederick Johnston** (April 6, 1863 – April 4, 1934) was a 19th-century American [center fielder](/source/Center_fielder) in [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball). He played eight seasons in the majors, for five different teams in three different leagues.[1]

In 746 games over eight seasons, Johnston posted a .251 [batting average](/source/Batting_average_(baseball)) (751-for-2992) with 453 [runs](/source/Run_(baseball)), 33 [home runs](/source/Home_runs), 386 [RBIs](/source/RBIs) and 151 [stolen bases](/source/Stolen_bases).
