**Dhani Pind** (or Dhanipind) is a village in [Rurka Kalan](/source/Rurka_Kalan) tehsil in [Jalandhar district](/source/Jalandhar_district) of [Punjab](/source/Punjab,_India) [State](/source/States_and_territories_of_India), India. It is located 8.4 km away from Rurka Kalan, 12 km from [Phagwara](/source/Phagwara), 22.7 km from district headquarter [Jalandhar](/source/Jalandhar) and 141 km from state capital [Chandigarh](/source/Chandigarh). The village is [administrated](/source/Administration_(government)) by a [sarpanch](/source/Sarpanch) who is an [elected representative](/source/Elected_representative) of village as per [Panchayati raj (India)](/source/Panchayati_raj_(India)).

## Education

The village has a Punjabi medium, [co-ed](/source/Co-education) upper primary with [secondary/higher secondary](/source/Secondary_school) school (GSSS Dhani Pind). The school provide [mid-day meal](/source/Mid_day_meals) as per Indian [Midday Meal Scheme](/source/Midday_Meal_Scheme) and the meal prepared in school premises and it was found in 1941.[2]

## Demography

According to the report [published](/source/Published) by [Census India in 2011](/source/2011_Census_of_India), Dhani Pind has a total number of 356 houses and population of 1642 of which include 809 males and 833 females. [Literacy](/source/Literacy_in_India) rate of Dhani Pind is 79.85%, higher than state average of 75.84%. The population of children under the age of 6 years is 148 which is 9.01% of total population of Dhani Pind, and child sex ratio is approximately 738 lower than state average of 897.

Most of the people are from [Schedule Caste](/source/Schedule_Caste) which constitutes 34.65% of total population in Dhani Pind. The town does not have any [Schedule Tribe](/source/Schedule_Tribe) population so far.

As per census 2011, 503 people were engaged in work activities out of the total population of Dhani Pind which includes 458 males and 45 females. According to census survey report 2011, 97.61% workers describe their work as main work and 2.39% workers are involved in marginal activity providing livelihood for less than 6 months.[1]
