**Devorah Rose**, born **Deborah Denise Trachtenberg**,[1] is the [Editor-in-Chief](/source/Editor-in-chief) of *[Social Life Magazine](https://www.sociallifemagazine.com)*,[2] a television personality and entrepreneur. In 2011, *[The New York Observer](/source/The_New_York_Observer)* named Rose one of the top 50 Media Power Bachelorettes.[3] Rose has been described by *The New Post* as a “real life [Blair Waldorf](/source/Blair_Waldorf)” and by *[The New York Times](/source/The_New_York_Times)* as “One part Lily Bart, one part Holly Golightly.”[4]

## Early life and education

Rose was born Deborah Denise Trachtenberg in [Plano, Texas](/source/Plano,_Texas), to a Venezuelan mother and Guatemalan father. She moved to [Venezuela](/source/Venezuela) when she was three months old and moved back to the States when she was six or seven.[5] Rose was raised primarily in [Newton, Massachusetts](/source/Newton,_Massachusetts). Rose graduated from [Barnard College](/source/Barnard_College) with a bachelor's degree in English and later worked towards her MFA in [Columbia University](/source/Columbia_University)'s creative writing program.[6]

## Career

### *Social Life Magazine*

Rose is the Editor-in-Chief of *[Social Life Magazine](https://www.sociallifemagazine.com)*. Rose has represented the magazine on TV shows.[7] In June 2011, she was profiled for her work in launching the magazine.[8] *Social Life Magazine* is referred to as "a bible of sorts" of social life in the Hamptons[9]

### TV appearances

Rose appeared on [TLC](/source/TLC_(TV_network))'s American reality television series, *[Cake Boss](/source/Cake_Boss)*, in which she had a $30 million cake studded with diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires made for her. The record-breaking cake was created by baker [Buddy Valastro](/source/Buddy_Valastro) and his staff.[10]

Rose starred alongside [Tinsley Mortimer](/source/Tinsley_Mortimer) in [The CW](/source/The_CW)'s *[High Society](/source/High_Society_(2010_TV_series))*, and her feud with Mortimer became a *New York Post* cover story. On *Dina's Party*, [Dina Manzo](/source/Dina_Manzo) dedicated an episode to decorating Rose's Hamptons home.[11] Rose has also appeared on *[The Real Housewives of New York City](/source/The_Real_Housewives_of_New_York_City)*, after [Bethenny Frankel](/source/Bethenny_Frankel) made the front cover of her magazine.[12]
