'''Devonport Column''' is a monument designed by [John Foulston](/source/John_Foulston) in [Devonport](/source/Devonport%2C_Plymouth), [Plymouth](/source/Plymouth), England. It is situated next to [Devonport Guildhall](/source/Devonport_Guildhall), also designed by Foulston.

==History==
Devonport Column was built in 1824 as part of the development of the town of Devonport,.<ref>{{NHLE|num=1322008 |desc=Devonport Column|accessdate=8 October 2015}}</ref> It is 124 feet tall.

Devonport Column served as a post for [firewatch](/source/Fire_lookout) duties during [the Blitz](/source/the_Blitz) with one policeman at the top and another at the bottom to relay messages. 

==Conservation and access==
