**Devin Scott** is an American filmmaker who directed the films [*The $5 Movie*](/source/The_$5_Movie) (2001), [*Libertyville*](/source/Libertyville_(film)) (2021), and created the films [*Long Live Xander the Great*](/source/Long_Live_Xander_the_Great) (2024), *Aunt Cindy and the Alchemist* (2024), and *The Craftsman* (2026).

## Personal life

Scott graduated from [San Diego State University](/source/San_Diego_State_University) in 1990.[1] He is married to Jeanne Scott, a veteran in the [United States Army](/source/United_States_Army)[2] and a producer on his films.[3] They live in [Spring Valley, San Diego County, California](/source/Spring_Valley,_San_Diego_County,_California).[4] Scott is the great nephew of [Jean Landis](/source/Jean_Landis).[5]

## Career

Scott co-owns American Dream Cinema with is wife.[6][7] In 2001, his film *[The $5 Movie](/source/The_$5_Movie)* screened at [Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films](/source/Palm_Springs_International_Festival_of_Short_Films).[3] The following year, he was a guest on *Creative Cafe* on [KOCT](/source/KOCT).[8] Scott was named San Diego Filmmaker of the Year in 2004[9] and his film *[Long Live Xander the Great](/source/Long_Live_Xander_the_Great)*, narrated by [Jordan Jacobo](/source/Jordan_Jacobo),[6] premiered at the [GI Film Festival San Diego](/source/GI_Film_Festival_San_Diego) in 2024.[2] In 2025, his film *Aunt Cindy and the Alchemist* screened at the [Coronado Island Film Festival](/source/Coronado_Island_Film_Festival).[10] Scott's film *The Craftsman* will premiere in 2026.[1]
