The **Development Movement** ([Georgian](/source/Georgian_language): შენების მოძრაობა, [romanized](/source/Romanization_of_Georgian): shenebis modzraoba) was a political movement in [Georgia](/source/Georgia_(country)). It was founded by former speaker of [Parliament of Georgia](/source/Parliament_of_Georgia) [David Usupashvili](/source/David_Usupashvili) and former members of [Republican Party of Georgia](/source/Republican_Party_of_Georgia) and [National Forum](/source/National_Forum_(Georgia)). The movement declared itself as [centrist](/source/Centrism). It took part in [2017 Georgian local elections](/source/2017_Georgian_local_elections) and obtained about 0.7% overall. DM's candidate for 2018 presidential election was [David Usupashvili](/source/David_Usupashvili) where he got 2.36% of votes.[1]

In December 2019, the new political union [Lelo for Georgia](/source/Lelo_for_Georgia) was established. Among the party, its founders are members of the Development Movement and [New Rights](/source/New_Rights), both of whom merged to form the new party. Members of Lelo for Georgia say that their goal will be to win the next parliamentary elections and form a government.[2][3][4]
