The '''Detroit Plateau''' ({{coord|64|10|S|60|0|W|name=Detroit Plateau}}) is a major interior plateau of [Graham Land](/source/Graham_Land) on the [Antarctic Peninsula](/source/Antarctic_Peninsula), with heights between {{convert|1500|and|1800|m}}. 
Its northeast limit is marked by the south wall of [Russell West Glacier](/source/Russell_West_Glacier), from which it extends some {{convert|90|nmi}} in a general southwest direction to [Herbert Plateau](/source/Herbert_Plateau).{{sfn|Alberts|1995|p=186}}

==Location==

The Detroit Plateau is in [Graham Land](/source/Graham_Land) towards the north of the [Antarctic Peninsula](/source/Antarctic_Peninsula), partly extending into the [Trinity Peninsula](/source/Trinity_Peninsula).
To the south of the Trinity Peninsula it is west of the [Danco Coast](/source/Danco_Coast), south of the [Davis Coast](/source/Davis_Coast) and north of the [Nordenskjöld Coast](/source/Nordenskj%C3%B6ld_Coast).
At its south end it joins the much smaller [Herbert Plateau](/source/Herbert_Plateau).

==Discovery and name==
The Detroit Plateau was observed from the air by Sir [Hubert Wilkins](/source/Hubert_Wilkins) on a flight of December 20, 1928. 
Wilkins named it '''Detroit Aviation Society Plateau''' after the society which aided in the organizing of his expedition, but the shortened form of the original name is approved. 
The north and east sides of the plateau were charted by the [Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey](/source/Falkland_Islands_Dependencies_Survey) (FIDS) in 1946–47.{{sfn|Alberts|1995|p=186}}
