Wing made his debut for [Cambridgeshire](/source/Cambridgeshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the 1964 [Minor Counties Championship](/source/Minor_Counties_Championship) against [Bedfordshire](/source/Bedfordshire_County_Cricket_Club). Wing also appeared in a handful of [first-class](/source/first-class_cricket) matches. His debut first-class match came for the [Marylebone Cricket Club](/source/Marylebone_Cricket_Club) (MCC) against [Cambridge University](/source/Cambridge_University_Cricket_Club) in 1967. The following year he toured Ireland with the club, playing a single first-class match against [Ireland](/source/Ireland_cricket_team).
