# Derek Bridge

**Derek James Wilson Bridge** (1921–2012) was an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket) who played for [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club) and [Oxford University](/source/Oxford_University_Cricket_Club) in 1947. He was born in [Manchester](/source/Manchester) on 30 November 1921 and died in [Builth Wells](/source/Builth_Wells) on 13 March 2012. He appeared in four first-class matches as a righthanded [batsman](/source/Batting_(cricket)) who [bowled](/source/Bowling_(cricket)) [off spin](/source/Off_break). He scored 55 [runs](/source/Run_(cricket)) with a highest score of 25 [not out](/source/Not_out) and took five [wickets](/source/Wicket) with a best performance of two for 14.[1]
