# Depth Affect

**Depth Affect** was a French music group, active from 2004 to 2012. Their style was influenced by hip-hop, electronica, and pop.

Originally a duo of David Bideau and Rémy Charrier, from [Nantes](/source/Nantes), [France](/source/France), in 2004 they opened for [Alias](/source/Alias_(artist)). The duo added DJ Kalmook (Frédéric Puren) et the VJ DeesK (Xavier Brunet) and produced *Arche Lymb* in 2006, with the [Autres Directions in Music](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Autres_Directions_in_Music&action=edit&redlink=1) label. The album was well-received critically.[1] Afterwards the group performed at festivals and concerts in France along with [rinôçérôse](/source/Rin%C3%B4%C3%A7%C3%A9r%C3%B4se), [Why?](/source/Why%3F_(American_band)), [dEUS](/source/DEUS), [Coldcut](/source/Coldcut), and [Franz Ferdinand](/source/Franz_Ferdinand_(band)).

Depth Affect

In 2008 the group released *Hero Crisis* which was considered more accessible, consistent and catchy than the first album.[2]

In 2010 the group made the EP *Chorea*.[3] Songs from the EP can be downloaded free from [SoundCloud](/source/SoundCloud).

In 2010 and 2011 the group toured [Belgium](/source/Belgium), [England](/source/England) and [Russia](/source/Russia)).

In 2011 the album *Draft Battle* was released.[4]

Depth Affect disbanded in August 2012.[5]
