Canadian film producer

**Denise Robert**, [CM](/source/Order_of_Canada) (born 1954) is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) [film producer](/source/Film_producer), who is president of [Cinémaginaire](/source/Cin%C3%A9maginaire), a studio she co-founded with [Daniel Louis](/source/Daniel_Louis).[1]

## Biography

She was born in [Ottawa](/source/Ottawa), [Ontario](/source/Ontario). She is currently married to [Denys Arcand](/source/Denys_Arcand) and she has produced many of his films.[2]

She was invited to join the [Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences](/source/Academy_of_Motion_Picture_Arts_and_Sciences) Producers Branch in 2005, and is also a voting member of the [British Academy of Film and Television Arts](/source/British_Academy_of_Film_and_Television_Arts) and the [Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma](/source/Acad%C3%A9mie_des_Arts_et_Techniques_du_Cin%C3%A9ma).[1]

In 2014, she was named a Member of the [Order of Canada](/source/Order_of_Canada) for her work in cinema.[3] She has also been inducted into the [Ordre des Arts et des Lettres](/source/Ordre_des_Arts_et_des_Lettres) and the [Ordre de la Pléiade](/source/Ordre_de_la_Pl%C3%A9iade).[1]
