The **Democratic Generation Party** or **Hizb El-Geel al-Democrati** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): حزب الجيل الديمقراطي) is a [political party](/source/Political_party) in [Egypt](/source/Egypt). The Democratic Generation Party can be considered a mainstream political party.[3]

## Overview

The party was founded in 2002.[4] It was part of the [Democratic Alliance for Egypt](/source/Democratic_Alliance_for_Egypt) led by the [Muslim Brotherhood](/source/Muslim_Brotherhood_in_Egypt) during the [2011-2012 Egyptian parliamentary election](/source/2011%E2%80%9312_Egyptian_parliamentary_election).[3]

The party was one of the founding members of the [Egyptian Front](/source/Egyptian_Front), which was founded in August 2014 ahead of the [2015 Egyptian parliamentary election](/source/2015_Egyptian_parliamentary_election).[2] It planned to run on [Kamal Ganzouri](/source/Kamal_Ganzouri)'s [National Alliance](/source/National_Alliance_(Egypt)) list, though Ganzouri withdrew from the race in February 2015.[5]
