**Delease** (*Delegazione Africa Settentrionale*, North Africa Delegation) was a [colonial](/source/Colonialism) body of the [Supreme Command of the Italian Armed Forces](/source/Comando_Supremo), with headquarters in [Tobruk](/source/Tobruk) and jurisdiction over [North Africa](/source/North_Africa), during the [Second World War](/source/Second_World_War), which served as liaison between the tactical command of [Panzer Army Africa](/source/Panzer_Army_Africa) and the Italian Supreme Command in [Rome](/source/Rome), and managed its [logistics](/source/Logistics).[1][2]

*Delease* was commanded by [Curio Barbasetti](/source/Curio_Barbasetti_di_Prun) who had won the esteem of [Erwin Rommel](/source/Erwin_Rommel). As of 23 October 1942 it had the functions of an army command, to which three army corps commands were subordinated, *Delease1* ([Tripoli](/source/Tripoli,_Libya), responsible for the logistics of [Tripolitania](/source/Tripolitania)), *Delease2* ([Benghazi](/source/Benghazi), responsible for the logistics of [Cyrenaica](/source/Cyrenaica)) and *Delease3* ([Marsa Matruh](/source/Marsa_Matruh), responsible for the logistics of the three army corps at the front), as well as the command of the North Africa Intendency, under General Vittorio Palma.[3][4]

Delease ceased to function on 16 November 1942, after the retreat following the [Second Battle of El Alamein](/source/Second_Battle_of_El_Alamein), and its functions were transferred to *Superlibia*, the High Command in [Libya](/source/Libya).[5]
