# Del Paddock

**Delmar Harold Paddock** (June 8, 1887 – February 6, 1952) was a [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) [third baseman](/source/Third_baseman). He played part of the [1912 season](/source/1912_in_baseball) in the majors with two different teams, the [Chicago White Sox](/source/Chicago_White_Sox) and the [New York Highlanders](/source/New_York_Yankees).

Paddock began his professional baseball career as a [pitcher](/source/Pitcher) with the [Vancouver Beavers](/source/Vancouver_Beavers) of the [Northwestern League](/source/Northwestern_League) in . After two years with Vancouver, he was converted to an [infielder](/source/Infielder) in while playing for the [Calgary Bronchos](/source/Calgary_Bronchos) of the [Western Canada League](/source/Western_Canada_League). He was purchased by the White Sox from the [Dubuque Hustlers](/source/Dubuque_Hustlers) of the [Illinois–Indiana–Iowa League](/source/Illinois%E2%80%93Indiana%E2%80%93Iowa_League) after the [1911 season](/source/1911_in_baseball).

After the 1912 season, Paddock returned to the minor leagues with the [Rochester Hustlers](/source/Rochester_Hustlers), who purchased him from New York. Starting that season, he spent the rest of his career primarily as an [outfielder](/source/Outfielder), although he did pitch briefly for the [Mitchell Kernels](/source/Mitchell_Kernels) of the [South Dakota League](/source/South_Dakota_League) in . He retired after the [1921 season](/source/1921_in_baseball), which he spent with the [Sioux City Packers](/source/Sioux_City_Packers) of the [Western League](/source/Western_League_(1900%E2%80%931958)).
