In 2004, the company was acquired by [Directed Electronics](/source/Directed_Electronics). Directed Electronics was founded by Congressman [Darrell Issa](/source/Darrell_Issa) and specialized in car alarms and radar detectors.<ref name="sdut1" /> Sandy Gross became President of the company's newly formed audio division.
