# Deena Ram

**Deena Ram** (born 1964 in [Rajasthan](/source/Rajasthan) state) is a former [Indian](/source/India) [track and field](/source/Track_and_field) athlete who specialised in the [3000 meters steeplechase](/source/3000_meters_steeplechase). He won the gold medal at the [1989 Asian Athletics Championships](/source/1989_Asian_Athletics_Championships) and the silver medal at [Asian Games](/source/Asian_Games). He was awarded [Arjuna Award](/source/Arjuna_Award) in 1990.

He also participated in the steeplechase at the [1991 World Championships](/source/1991_World_Championships_in_Athletics_%E2%80%93_Men's_3000_metres_steeplechase). He was coached by [Illyas Babar](/source/Illyas_Babar).
