The **Dean of Ripon** is a senior cleric in the [Church of England](/source/Church_of_England) [Diocese of Leeds](/source/Anglican_Diocese_of_Leeds). The dean is the head of the [chapter at Ripon Cathedral](/source/Dean_and_Chapter_of_Ripon) – his predecessors were deans of the same church when it was previously the cathedral of the [Diocese of Ripon](/source/Diocese_of_Ripon) and a [minster](/source/Minster_(church)) in the [diocese of York](/source/Diocese_of_York).
