==Career==
Born in [Maidstone](/source/Maidstone), [Kent](/source/Kent), Rance joined the [Gillingham](/source/Gillingham_F.C.) Centre of Excellence at the age of eight.<ref name="Player Profiles">{{Cite web

| access-date = 3 April 2012}}</ref> He started an apprenticeship with the club during the summer of 2008 and his good form for the youth team earned him a call-up for the first team squad, being named on the bench for Gillingham's [FA Cup](/source/FA_Cup) game against [Aston Villa](/source/Aston_Villa_F.C.) in January 2009.<ref name="Player Profiles"/> Rance finished the [2009–10](/source/2009%E2%80%9310_in_English_football) season as the youth team's top goalscorer, and in May 2010 signed his first professional contract with the club.<ref name="Player Profiles"/> However, his opportunities in the first team were limited in the [2010–11](/source/2010%E2%80%9311_in_English_football) season by a foot injury sustained during a pre-season friendly.<ref name="Player Profiles"/>

Ahead of the 2013–14 season, Rance signed for [Ebbsfleet United](/source/Ebbsfleet_United_F.C.). Rance quickly established himself as a fan favourite at Stonebridge Road and was named players' player of the season despite being sent off in the play-off final second leg at [Bromley](/source/Bromley_F.C.) and thus missing the play-off final against his former club, Dover.
