'''Dean Greenaway''' (born 13 January 1959 in [Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands](/source/Saint_Thomas%2C_U.S._Virgin_Islands)) is a [sprinter](/source/sprint_(running)) who represented the [British Virgin Islands](/source/British_Virgin_Islands).

Greenaway was part of the first ever team to represent  [British Virgin Islands](/source/British_Virgin_Islands) at the [Summer Olympics](/source/Summer_Olympics) when he competed in the [1984 Summer Olympics](/source/1984_Summer_Olympics), he entered the [400 metres](/source/Athletics_at_the_1984_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_400_metres) where he finished 5th in his heat so didn't qualify for the next round, he also entered the [4x400 metres relay](/source/Athletics_at_the_1984_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_4_%C3%97_400_metres_relay) and finished 6th in the heat so again didn't qualify for the next round.<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20200418081628/https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/gr/dean-greenaway-1.html Sports Reference Profile]</ref>

On 19 May 1979, Greenaway ran 400m in 46.04s, setting a [national record](/source/List_of_British_Virgin_Islands_records_in_athletics) which still stands today.
