**DeBusk Scarp** ([69°23′S 62°57′W / 69.383°S 62.950°W / -69.383; -62.950](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?pagename=DeBusk_Scarp&params=69_23_S_62_57_W_source:GNIS)) is a nearly vertical rock cliff, 2 nautical miles (4 km) long and rising to 300 metres (1,000 ft), at the south side of the mouth of [Bingham Glacier](/source/Bingham_Glacier), on the east coast of [Palmer Land](/source/Palmer_Land), Antarctica. This feature was photographed from the air in 1928 by [Sir Hubert Wilkins](/source/Sir_Hubert_Wilkins), and again in 1940 by members of the [United States Antarctic Service](/source/United_States_Antarctic_Service) who also sledge surveyed along this coast. It was resighted by the [Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition](/source/Ronne_Antarctic_Research_Expedition) (RARE), 1947–48, under [Finn Ronne](/source/Finn_Ronne), who named it after [Clarence DeBusk](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Clarence_DeBusk&action=edit&redlink=1), executive secretary of the [Chamber of Commerce](/source/Chamber_of_Commerce), [Beaumont, Texas](/source/Beaumont%2C_Texas), who was of assistance to the RARE in the preparation for the voyage south.[1]
