**Dawin Polanco** (born December 12, 1990), known [mononymously](/source/Mononym) as **Dawin**, is an American singer, songwriter,[1] rapper and record producer from Brooklyn, New York.[2] He is best known for the song "[Dessert](/source/Dessert_(song))", which reached number 68 on the [*Billboard* Hot 100](/source/Billboard_Hot_100).

## Career

Dawin's debut single, "Just Girly Things", was released in 2014. It reached the top 40 of the [Dance/Electronic Songs](/source/Dance%2FElectronic_Songs) chart in the United States,[3] and was used in a number of [Vines](/source/Vine_(service)), which led him to sign a record deal in 2014.[4] In 2015, he released the single "[Dessert](/source/Dessert_(song))". Released in both a solo version and a version featuring [Silentó](/source/Silent%C3%B3), it reached the top 10 in Australia and New Zealand,[5][6] and was certified platinum in the U.S.[7]

In 2016, he released his second EP, *Sunday*.[8] In 2017, he released his debut album, *Errors*.
