# Daweb Constituency

**Daweb Constituency** is an [electoral constituency](/source/Constituencies_of_Namibia) in the [Hardap Region](/source/Hardap_Region) of [Namibia](/source/Namibia). It was created in August 2013, following a recommendation of the *Fourth Delimitation Commission of Namibia*, and in preparation of the [2014 general election](/source/Namibian_general_election%2C_2014).[1] Daweb constituency was formed from the western part of [Gibeon Constituency](/source/Gibeon_Constituency).[2]

The administrative centre of Daweb Constituency is the village of [Maltahöhe](/source/Maltah%C3%B6he). It also contains a number of small settlements, among them [Uibes](/source/Uibes).[3] As of 2020[\[update\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Daweb_Constituency&action=edit) the constituency had 3,297 registered voters.[4]

## Politics

In the [2015 regional elections](/source/Namibian_local_and_regional_elections%2C_2015) Herculus Jantze of [Swapo](/source/Swapo) won the constituency with 853 votes, followed by the independent candidate Adam Johannes Baisako (199 votes), Paul Lucas Simon of the [Democratic Party of Namibia](/source/Democratic_Party_of_Namibia) (DPN, 108 votes) and Anna Lukas of the [Democratic Turnhalle Alliance](/source/Democratic_Turnhalle_Alliance) (DTA, 80 votes).[5] The [2020 regional election](/source/2020_Namibian_local_and_regional_elections) was won by Nicodemus Jesajas Motinga of the [Landless People's Movement](/source/Landless_People's_Movement_(Namibia)) (LPM, a new party registered in 2018). He obtained 963 votes. The sitting councillor Jantze (SWAPO) came second with 628 votes.[6]
