**David von Ballmoos** (born 30 December 1994) is a Swiss professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [goalkeeper](/source/Goalkeeper_(association_football)) for [Swiss Super League](/source/Swiss_Super_League) club [FC Lugano](/source/FC_Lugano), on loan from [Young Boys](/source/BSC_Young_Boys).

## Club career

Von Ballmoss has been part of the [Young Boys](/source/BSC_Young_Boys) team since he joined in 2007 as part of their youth team. He was promoted into the main team in 2015 and sent on loan to [FC Winterthur](/source/FC_Winterthur) in Swiss Challenge League for the 2015–16 and 2016–17 seasons. He has been back at BSC Young Boys since the 2017–18 season and now plays as the main goalkeeper in the Super League. Von Balmoos made his professional debut for [Young Boys](/source/BSC_Young_Boys) in a Swiss Super League 2–0 win over [Basel](/source/FC_Basel) on 22 July 2017.[1][2]

On 8 September 2025, he joined league rivals [FC Lugano](/source/FC_Lugano) on loan for the [2025–26 season](/source/2025%E2%80%9326_Swiss_Super_League), with an option for a permanent transfer.[3]

## International career

Von Ballmoos is a two-time international for the [Switzerland U20s](/source/Switzerland_national_under-20_football_team).[4][5]

He was called up to the senior [Switzerland](/source/Switzerland_national_football_team) squad in November 2020.[6]
